City of Gray is positioning itself as "a welcome reprieve for businesses looking to escape the over-saturated Greater Portland and Lewiston-Auburn markets." In the city of Windham, which is in the Lakes Region of western Maine, the Windham Economic Development Corp. already has a strong track record of bringing in business and new development. e city offers a range of incentives for businesses, including a micro-loan program, retail coaching and market analysis and a broadband partnership. For more, see Page 38. Brunswick Landing, a former Navy air base, has already been going gangbusters, creating 2,500 jobs from 140 companies. But there's plenty more space for businesses, retailers and housing, as Midcoast Region Redevelopment Authority, the economic development entity for Brunswick Landing, can show you.
