Two types of buyers drove the feeding frenzy: Families getting out of cities during the pandemic, looking for a safer place, and investors. The investors were an interesting part of the equation. While Maine's median home price has soared, it could be argued that the recent boom caught Maine up with much of the rest of the country's real estate values.
