Movers & Shakers Wells Fargo has named Lou Gallo its new commercial banking market leader for Connecticut and the New York capital region. Gallo, who has been Wells Fargo's senior vice president and market executive for the Hudson Valley market, is taking on the new, expanded role at the bank to oversee two additional markets. Gallo has more than three decades of experience serving middle market companies. His promotion follows the retirement of longtime market executive Kevin Burke after a nearly 20-year run in the position. Michael Kolesar has been named director of community relations at River Ridge at Avon, a Benchmark assisted-living and memory-care community. Before working in senior care, Kolesar spent 15 years in the hospitality industry, managing the Hotel Northampton in Northampton, Mass., and the Water's Edge Resort and Country Club in Westbrook. New Britain nonprofit Klingberg Family Centers recently announced a promotion and new hire. Sonia Colon-Mora has been promoted to vice president of programs. Formerly director of community services, Colon-Mora has a 25-year history at Klingberg Family Centers. T'Kai Howard has returned to Klingberg Family Centers to fill the position of senior director of community services. She most recently worked for the Department of Children and Families. Billie C. Scruse has taken on the executive director role at the Hartford Food System Inc., a nonprofit focused on finding affordable and healthy food for city residents. She is responsible for a staff of seven employees and will engage residents and community stakeholders, expand the capacity for new programs, develop investor support, and increase HFS's donor base. Before she started her new job in January, Scruse was senior program director of the youth development division at the YMCA of Greater Hartford. The Connecticut Association of Boards of Education (CABE) has named attorney Patrice McCarthy its new executive director and general counsel. She is taking over for the retiring Robert Rader, following his 26 years at the association. McCarthy previously served as CABE's deputy director and general counsel. The Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art has announced new hires and promotions. Michelle McFarland has been named head of visitor experience and services. She was previously the outreach and program coordinator for the Hartford Public Library. Tracey Krasniewski has joined the Wadsworth as director of finance, after nearly 18 years as assistant director of finance with The Salvation Army. Julia Isenberg was recently appointed associate director of development. She previously was a major gifts officer at The Children's Hospital at Montefiore and vice president of development at Chapel Haven Schleifer Center in New Haven. Vanessa Sigalas has been promoted to the newly-created position of associate curator for collections research. Artist Victor Pacheco has joined the board of Hartford nonprofit Real Art Ways.
