Worcester developer proposes commercial building next to Seven Hills behavioral center A developer is proposing demolition and redevelopment on a site next to Seven Hills Foundation & Affiliates' new facility on Gold Star Boulevard in Worcester, according to plans submitted to the City's Planning Board. Under the proposed plans, a 6,500-square-foot storage extension at 135-139 Gold Star Blvd. would be demolished and replaced with an 11,060-square-foot building. K&L Worcester LLC, an entity registered to George Tonna at 2 Foster St. in Worcester, is the owner of the property and the applicant proposing the redevelopment. e proposed building would be zoned for business, per the proposal. e existing storage building is unoccupied and located to the north of the Seven Hills Child & Family Behavioral Health center. e newly constructed, 25,000-square-foot health facility at 135 Gold Star Blvd. opened in the fall and includes more than 250 parking spaces. K&L Worcester LLC has owned the property since 2019, when the entity purchased it for $2.6 million, according to the Worcester County Registry of Deeds. TikTok retailer Showcase expanding to Natick Mall Showcase, a Canadian retail company specializing in selling products seen frequently on TikTok or television shows, is coming to Natick as part of a major U.S. expansion. e company, which currently operates 109 stores in malls across Canada, plans to open 27 stores in 12 U.S. states by the end of the summer, according to a May 11 press release. In Massachusetts, it's coming to the Natick Mall, the Holyoke Mall in Holyoke, the Northshore Mall in Peabody, and the South Shore Plaza in Braintree. Showcase has carved out a niche in the "Try before you buy" market, with the majority of its products opened up and on display. e company capitalizes on internet trends, selling products like Dalgona cookies, popularized by the Netflix show "Squid Game", and hot chocolate bombs, which are basically little balls of hot chocolate and marshmallows that open up when warm milk is poured over them. On top of its growing brick-and- mortar presence, the company's omnichannel strategy includes live online shopping events every 48 hours, same-day delivery service with DoorDash, mobile-first video advertising, and targeted, personalized email campaigns.
