Davis, a private wealth management firm in Portland, announced that John Doughty was selected to join the membership of the Boston Economic Club. Doughty is chief investment officer with the firm. Experience Maine, a travel concierge and event planning company in Cumberland Center, and Seawick Candle in Richmond were recognized by Google as the 2020 and 2021 small business of the year in the annual Google Economic Impact Report. Stephanie French, an account manager with the business insurance team at Allen Insurance and Financial in Camden, earned the Certified Marine Insurance Professional designation from the International Institute for Marine Insurance Studies. In addi- tion, Abraham Dugal, a financial advisor at the firm, achieved the designa- tion of Certified Financial Planner professional. Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington said that Katrina Gervais, ambulatory nursing, Melody Hill, hospital-based nursing, and Karla D'Alessendro, direct care professional, received "Nursing and Direct Care Professionals Excellence Awards" and Michael Senecal, direc- tor of NorthStar EMS, received the "Partnership in Caring Award." Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor recognized numer- ous employees during National Hospital Week. Recipients included: Dawn Andrews, "Caring Spirit Overall - Highest Award;" Cassidy Parady, "Rookie Caring Spirit Overall;" Kim Moreau, "Caring Spirit – Guiding the Way;" Chris Luthin, "Caring Spirit – Seeing the Individual;" Shannon Jagger, "Caring Spirit – Raising Quality;" Taylor Desmond, "Caring Spirit – Making Access Easy;" and the Swab and Go Team of Shelley Ryan, Christa Balmas, Lorri Cameron-Dow and Tammy Violette, "Caring Spirit – Team." In addition, Lisa Dorr received the "DAISY Nurse Leader Award" and Ruth Dow, Grace Jordan, Starsha Rizzo and Morgan Russell were named "SUNSHINE Award" winners. Catholic Charities Maine in Portland announced that it earned national re-accreditation through the Washington, D.C.-based Council on Accreditation, an independent, not-for-profit accreditor of commu- nity-based behavioral health care and social service organizations. Hollywood Casino in Bangor said it was certified as a "Best Place for Working Parents," a Maine Department of Economic and Community Development program endorsed by the Maine State Chamber of Commerce and local chambers. Main Street America announced that Heart of Biddeford received the "Great American Main Street Award," which recognizes communities for excellence in comprehensive preservation-based commercial district revitalization. e Leapfrog Group, a nonprofit watchdog organization that serves as a voice for health care consum- ers and purchasers, announced that Central Maine Medical Center, Maine Medical Center, Maine General Medical Center, MaineHealth dba Southern Maine Healthcare, Mid Coast Hospital, Northern Light A.R.
