Movers & Shakers Eversource Energy has named a new chief financial officer following the retirement of Phil Lembo, 66, who held the position since May 2016. The company's senior vice president and treasurer, John Moreira, became CFO effective earlier this month. Lembo will continue to work for Everosurce until later this year as a non- executive senior strategic adviser focusing on options for Eversource's offshore wind investments, which the company is reviewing for a possible sale. Moreira, a 22-year veteran of Eversource and its predecessors, was promoted to senior vice president - finance and regulatory, and treasurer, in 2018. Dr. Maryanna Polukhin, an internal medicine physician at Starling Physicians, has been appointed to Agilon Health's female physician leadership council, an organization of women who are "breaking the glass ceiling" for female physicians nationwide. The council's collective goal is to foster collaboration between women physicians and male physician allies across a broad network of more than 1,600 primary care physicians nationwide. Naugatuck-based Ion Financial has promoted two employees. Anne Rivers has been promoted to executive vice president, chief human resources officer. Rivers joined the bank in 2020 and has over 27 years of HR experience. She is responsible for overseeing human resources, building the talent pipeline for Ion Bank and Ion Investments and serves on the bank's executive management committee. Craig W. Porter has been promoted to executive vice president, director of marketing and communications. Porter joined the bank in 2011. He is responsible for overseeing all marketing, advertising and communications for Ion Bank and Ion Investments and serves on the bank's executive management committee. Connecticut Public has announced two new additions to its journalism staff: Eric Aasen as executive editor and Mark Mirko as deputy visuals director. Aasen will lead the Connecticut Public newsroom, overseeing all local news, including radio, digital and television platforms. He joins Connecticut Public from KERA-Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, a PBS/ NPR member station, where he led a news department of 35 in the country's fifth-largest media market. Mirko joins Connecticut Public following a long, award-winning career at the Hartford Courant as a photojournalist. In his new position, Mirko will be a key leader as Connecticut Public continues to grow and expand its commitment to photojournalism, specifically on its evolving digital platforms. Cheshire-based Lane Construction Corp. announced that it has named a new CEO. Ignacio Botella will take over as the company's new president and chief executive officer. The appointment comes at a time when Lane said it is growing — it reported an order backlog exceeding $2.4 billion at the end of last year. Lane Construction is the U.S. subsidiary of Italy-based Webuild Group. West Hartford IT and cybersecurity firm CompassMSP has named Donald (Don) Swartz chief operating officer. He takes responsibility for service delivery as well as client experience and retention. With nearly 40 years in technology services, he is known for his abilities in employee engagement, service delivery and customer retention, the company said. Wallingford-based Aware Recovery Care has appointed Erin Scraper as its new chief operating officer. She will work closely with President, Dr. Andrea Auxier, to ensure daily operations run smoothly to support the new CEO, Dr. Brian Holzer. Prior to joining Aware in February 2021 as chief strategy officer, Scraper held various executive leadership positions in operations, quality and strategy throughout her more than 18 years in the healthcare industry, with the last seven years focused on behavioral health care. Hartford-based CareCentrix has named longtime health plan executive and physician Dr. Carmella Sebastian chief medical officer. Sebastian most recently served as vice president of clinical operations at Oscar Health, and before that, held leadership roles at Florida Blue, Humana, and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Northeastern Pennsylvania. In her role at CareCentrix, Sebastian will guide the organization's clinical vision, overseeing all aspects of clinical strategy and operations. Hartford law firm Murtha Cullina LLP has named Michelle Doran chief operating officer. As COO, Doran will oversee the overall business, finance and operations of the firm working with other senior leaders to develop and implement firm strategy, which includes smart growth in the New England corridor. The COO will be an advisor to attorneys and an advocate for firmwide initiatives. Prior to joining Murtha Cullina, Doran was a regional director of operations for an international AmLaw 100 firm, having led multiple offices across the U.S., London and China.
