Greis had a vision. e WWII Navy veteran and engineering graduate of Brown and Harvard Universities imagined a company that would advance cylindrical die rolling technology and machinery. at concept, coupled with innovation, a strong employee culture, and a global strategy, led to the creation of Kinefac, which has earned worldwide recognition and influence in the manufacturing industry. e company name derives from the Greek "kine," meaning movement, and the Latin "facio," meaning to make. In combination, these words represent the essence of the metal forming process: "to make by moving." When Greis founded Kinefac, the company focused on rolling machines, soliciting and heeding input from customers to produce the most effective and user-friendly precision machinery. Over time, the company developed expertise in extrusion, radial forming, center-drive turning, and coiling. One of Kinefac's first major markets was the automotive industry. e company's rolling machine technology was, and still is, used extensively in steering columns, windshield wiper motor shas and alternator shas. In addition to the automotive industry, Kinefac is known for creating high-precision, high-tolerance machines for the aerospace, nuclear, power generation, appliance, railroad, medical and power transmission industries. rough the years, Kinefac has created better more efficient, high-tolerance machinery that has made the company a leader in the industry. Able to develop unique, customer-specific machines and well known for its expertise in unusual metal forming operations, the company conducts intensive research and development to cra one-of-a- kind, custom-made machines. is innovative spirit has kept this small company thriving and allowed it to have an outsized impact in its field and in the industry. Incremental advances have enabled Kinefac to perfect cold-formed sha manufacturing techniques with integrated cylindrical die rolling in systems. is technology takes hot-rolled coil stock, straightens and shears it, then rolls a variety of forms at high speed without producing waste material. On the coiling side, Kinefac has the expertise to design machines that produce some of the tiniest metal coils in the industry. For example, the company's Microcoilers TM manufacture coils for catheters, with wire which measures less than the diameter of a human hair and must be able to maneuver through delicate parts of the body. Coiling has also been applied to other aspects of the medical industry, including microsurgical, pain management and other cardiovascular applications. Customized Technology Kinefac integrates advanced CNC controls with interactive HMI interfaces, customized manufacturing cell automation and work handling systems into its machine designs. Additionally, Kinefac manufactures hydraulic actuation systems, centrifugal fluid recovery and parts cleaning systems and access control gate systems. By keeping up with rapidly changing technology, Kinefac has been able to best its competitors, both in the United States and abroad. In fact, Kinefac is one of the last surviving cylindrical die rolling, extrusion, radial forming and center drive turning companies in the U.S. Unlike many manufacturers that operate with a traditional assembly line, Kinefac KINEFAC ® CORPORATION: Innovation Leads to Success 156 Goddard Memorial Drive, Worcester, MA 01603-1260 508.754.6891 www.kinefac.com The Greis Family, Owners Contact: Jean Allain, VP Sales 508-754-6891 x615 Year Founded: 1962 "rough the years, Kinefac has created better, more efficient, high-tolerance machinery that has made the company a leader in the industry."
