On June 14, 1722 Worcester
was incorporated as a town.
For 300 years the Heart of the Commonwealth has been the center
of life in our region and a source of innovation across a number of industries.
Worcester 300: City of Innovators celebrates and tells the story of the incredible
people and companies that drove economic growth and prosperity over the last
three centuries, as the city transformed from agrarian to industrial.
With the decline of heavy industry, Worcester reinvented itself
as a hub for higher education, medicine, and biotechnology, and today
the City of Seven Hills has been reborn as a diverse and thriving urban hub.
