Movers & Shakers University of Connecticut Provost Carl Lejuez, the school's chief academic officer, will be departing in June to become the executive vice president and provost at Stony Brook University in New York. Lejuez has served as UConn's chief academic officer since 2020. His title is provost and executive vice president for academic affairs. The announcement comes at a time when the university is actively looking for a new president. Radenka Maric was named interim president in January. She replaced Andrew Agwunobi, who was also interim president. Agwunobi replaced Thomas Katsouleas, who stepped down abruptly as UConn president after only a few years on the job. Bristol aerospace manufacturer Barnes Group has named Ian M. Reason to a senior executive position. Reason took over as senior vice president of Barnes and president of Barnes Aerospace May 2. He succeeded Michael A. Beck, who retired from the company April 30. Before Barnes, Reason was president of mechanical solutions, interiors and structures with Pennsylvania-based Triumph Group, an aviation and industrial components manufacturer. Max Kothari, the CEO and founder of Hartford-based Express Kitchens and chair of the Hartford Chamber of Commerce, has been appointed to the Boston Federal Reserve's New England Advisory Council. Kothari joins the council as one of only two Connecticut-based advisors. At quarterly meetings, members provide bank leaders with insights into business conditions and on-the-ground economic realities in the region. Key Private Bank, the wealth management division of KeyCorp., has hired Tiffany Mazur as relationship manager. She reports to Elissa Eddie, Key Private Bank sales leader for Key's Connecticut and Massachusetts market. Mazur joins Key from Webster Bank, where she served as a consumer banking sales and service coach. Prior to Webster Bank, Mazur managed client relationships at JP Morgan Chase Bank as private client banker and small business specialist. Mazur will be located in KeyBank's new downtown Hartford office space at 225 Asylum Street. CPA Deborah Beebe has joined accounting firm Harper & Whitfield P.C. as a manager in the Farmington office. She has over 20 years of both public and private industry experience providing a variety of professional services, including audit, annual compliance, internal control system reviews and attest engagements. Harper & Whitfield also recently announced that CPA Rebecca Zappone has been promoted to a principal of the firm. American Eagle Financial Credit Union has named Dianna C. Wilson its new chief lending officer. In her new role, Wilson will lead American Eagle's entire lending operations — including real estate, consumer, business, credit cards, loan servicing, collections, and quality assurance — and have a significant influence on the credit union's strategic plans and programs. Wilson most recently served as senior vice president of lending at Justice Federal Credit Union in Washington, D.C. She assumes the chief lending officer role that was vacated by Howard Brady, who was named president and CEO in January. Orthopedic Associates of Hartford (OAH) has appointed Dr. Pietro Memmo as president. Memmo is an interventional physiatrist, one of the few in the state who is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation and pain management. He joined OAH in 2003, currently serves as the assistant director of the Orthopedic Associates Surgery Center in Rocky Hill, and has served on the OAH executive committee for the past 10 years. Prior to his career in medicine, Memmo was in the banking industry for eight years. Hartford nonprofit Everyday Democracy has named Merle McGee as its president and chief executive officer effective May 23. McGee brings nearly 25 years of experience in nonprofit settings, including significant executive leadership experience. Most recently, she served as chief equity and engagement officer for Planned Parenthood of Greater New York.
