Legacy Properties Sotheby's International Realty, a luxury real estate company in Portland, hired Kaleb Swan as a real estate professional. The University of Maine System in Augusta hired Michael Laliberte as president of the University of Maine at Augusta, effective Aug. 1. Laliberte is currently president of the State University of New York at Delhi. Bernstein Shur, a law firm in Portland, hired Rebecca Asen as director of attorney recruiting and professional development. Asen was previously associate general counsel at IDEXX Laboratories Inc. in Westbrook. The Maine Discovery Museum in Bangor hired Kate Dickerson as interim executive director. Dickerson is the founder and director of the Maine Science Festival. Thompson Financial Group in Presque Isle hired Chase Guerrette as a financial advisor. Guerrette was previ- ously with Bangor Savings Bank. The Maine Connectivity Authority in Augusta hired Maggie Drummond-Bahl as strategic part- nership director. Drummond-Bahl was previously director of philanthropy for the Maine Community Foundation. Preti Flaherty, a law firm in Portland, hired Crystal Bulges as a member of the firm's environmental practice group. Bulges has 20 years of experience at the Maine Supreme Judicial Court, where she served as a permanent and supervi- sory law clerk. Verrill, a law firm in Portland, hired Daniel Casey as coun- sel in the firm's real estate group. Nyle Water Heating Systems, a devel- oper and manufacturer of heat pump water heating products for residential and commercial applications in Brewer, hired Bill Paulus as COO. Paulus was CEO at Cerahelix, a startup specializing in ceramic nanofiltration technology. Portland Adult Education hired Abbie Yamamoto as executive director, effective Aug. 1. Yamamoto is currently executive director of the Maine Association for New Americans. Caleb Johnson Studio and Woodhull of Maine, related firms that do residential and commercial architecture, construc- tion and millwork firm in Portland, announced several new hires. Studio new hires included Jessica Amero, book- keeper/finance administrator; Thomas Jonak, project manager for the com- mercial studio; and Benjamin Kaplowitz, architectural designer for the residential studio. Woodhull hired Nate Barrett, project manager for commercial con- struction; Rob Hyson, project manager for the residential construction; Ismael Rivera and Adam Stockman, cabinet makers in millwork; Mark Sturgeon, project superin- tendent, commercial construction; Austin Trigg, apprentice carpenter, residential construction; and Marc McCabe, project superintendent, residential construction.
