In this role, Collins will continue to lead the organization. Hartford law firm Shipman & Goodwin LLP announced that Melissa M. Mack has joined the firm's tax and employee benefits practice group as a partner. Mack has extensive experience representing tax-exempt organizations, including advising on matters related to exemption, and corporate and governance issues. She counsels large and small clients on formation and obtaining, maintaining and operating tax-exempt status, governance, strategic planning, charitable giving, fundraising and corporate transactions. Mack earned her law degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law. Tennessee talent and staffing firm Vaco has promoted Lauren Becker to managing partner of its Connecticut locations. The Connecticut office specializes in recruiting finance, accounting, technology and operations personnel across various industries. Becker joined Vaco last year as a director and has been instrumental in the firm's success in the tri-state area. Previously, she served in executive roles at Creative Financial Staffing, a national staffing and recruiting firm specializing in finance and accounting. Collinsville-based healthcare technology company Goodroot has hired Sal Grausso as president of pharmacy cost solutions and Markus Waite as chief information officer. Grausso has spent over two decades in the pharmaceutical industry, primarily in executive roles at drug manufacturers. Waite brings with him three decades of experience on the technology side of the healthcare industry, most recently in pharmaceuticals. Marion Manufacturing Co. Owner and President Doug Johnson has been elected board chair of the Precision Metalforming Association (PMA), a national organization that represents the North American metalforming industry. As the industry continues to rebound from the pandemic, Johnson's term as chair will focus on building momentum and strengthening the metalforming community, the association said. Avon's Talcott Mountain Science Center for Student Involvement Inc. recently announced that its board of trustees has selected Jeffrey L. Martin as its next executive director, effective July 1. Martin will succeed Jonathan R. Craig, who will retire from his executive director role after 43 years with the organization. Martin previously served as director of community engagement and education at the Hartford Symphony Orchestra and then as assistant head of school at Covenant Preparatory School in Hartford. Most recently, Martin served as the executive director of the Children's Community School in Waterbury. Hartford International University for Religion and Peace (formerly Hartford Seminary) has hired Kalia Kellogg as director of recruitment and enrollment management. Kellogg previously served as director of enrollment management at Northwestern Connecticut Community College. Prior to that, she served for 10 years at Trinity College as assistant and then associate director of admissions.
