Founded: Children's Theatre of Maine, founded in 1923, is the longest
continuing operating children's theater in the U.S. The Children's Museum
of Maine was founded in 1976. They merged in 2008.

Julie Butcher Pezzino led the Children's
Museum & Theatre of Maine as it
completed a capital campaign and built
a new facility on Thompson's Point in
Portland. Behind her is a mural by artist
Rachel Gloria Adams.
