30 n e w h a v e n B I Z | M a r c h 2 0 2 2 | n e w h a v e n b i z . c o m Quantum-Si founder Jonathan Rothberg takes over as interim CEO Quantum-Si Inc., a Guilford-based life sciences company, announced recently that its founder, Jon- athan Rothberg, who also chairs its board of directors, is now interim CEO. Rothberg succeeds John Stark, who had been CEO since November 2020. Rothberg took over Feb. 8, and will remain in the position while the board searches for a long-term replacement for Stark. Rothberg is an inventor, scientist and entrepreneur who has founded and launched multiple life science and medical device companies. In addi- tion to Quantum-Si, which is focused on commercializing single-molecule protein sequencing, Rothberg has been involved in several well-known compa- nies, such as Butterfly Network, Detect, Hyperfine and Tesseract Health. Albertus Magnus names new safety leader Albertus Magnus College has select- ed John Ritchie to serve as its new direc- tor of public safety. Ritchie, a Stratford resident, started in his new role on Feb. 22. He will lead all emergency and safety protocols on the college's campus. Ritchie most recently served as dis- trict manager of the Stamford region at Securitas Security Services Inc. He has also been the assistant director of public safety at Fairfield University. AI Therapeutics names new CEO AI erapeutics Inc., a Guilford-based clinical-stage biopharmaceutical compa- ny, has named Dr. Brigette Roberts as its chief executive officer. Roberts has more than two decades of experience in healthcare investment and biotechnology entrepreneurship. She has been serving as acting chief executive since May 2021. During her tenure, Roberts has fortified AI erapeutics' founding mission of bringing life-saving drugs to patients with rare diseases, raising more than $28 million in private investment capital to advance its product pipeline, according to an announcement. Hyperfine appoints senior medical director Hyperfine Inc., the Guilford-based com- pany behind Swoop, the first Food and Drug Administra- tion-cleared portable magnetic resonance imaging system, recently appointed Dr. Chip Truwit as senior medical director. Truwit's background includes three decades of experience in public sector healthcare and neuroradiology education. Truwit previously served as chief medical officer of diagnostic imaging and medical officer of precision diagno- sis at Philips Healthcare. Truwit's career also includes 27 years as a professor of neuroradiology at the University of Minnesota, as well as 19 years as radiology chair and three years as chief innovation officer at Hennepin County Medical Center. Aware Recovery Care names physician as new leader Aware Recovery Care, a Walling- ford-based addiction-treatment busi- ness, has named Dr. Andrea Auxier as its new president. Auxier previously served as Aware's chief growth officer. As pres- ident of Aware Recov- ery Care, Auxier will lead the execution of the company's vision, strategies and goals. Aware Recovery Care provides team- based in-home addiction treatment in Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Virginia, Florida and Indiana. Datto appoints new general counsel Datto Holding Corp., a Norwalk-based soware and security company, has appointed Emily Tabak Epstein as the company's general counsel. Epstein replaces Michael Fass, who is retiring. Epstein will report to CEO Tim Weller. She will lead all legal and com- pliance strategies globally and serve as a strategic advisor for Datto's executives and board of directors. Stephen Press, with Press/Cuozzo Realtors in Hamden, represented the seller, Sixteen Forty Whitney LLC and procured the buyer, Amici Corner Deli LLC. According to the Secretary of the State's office, the buyer is based in North Haven and its principals are listed as restaurateurs Michael C. Migliaro and Stephen M.
