Lynn Fusco is president and CEO of the New Haven-based construction and management firm, Fusco Corp. She is the third generation to lead the company, which her grandfather Louis Fusco originally founded in 1924 to build homes in the region. Since its residential beginnings, the company, headquartered at the Long Wharf Maritime Center, has grown to include a vast portfolio, including proj- ects at schools, colleges and universities, healthcare institutions, government, athletic and corporate office buildings. Under Fusco's direction, the company has been involved in dozens of con- struction projects throughout the area. A few examples include the Connecti- cut Tennis Center, Yale University's Say- brook and Timothy Dwight Colleges, Eli Whitney Technical High School in Hamden, Long Wharf 's Maritime Cen- ter, Boehringer Ingelheim's headquar- ters, and Yale New Haven Hospital's Clinical Laboratory. More recently, Fusco has been going before New Haven land use boards for the company's latest project, a proposal for two new 10-story residential towers totaling 500 apartments along New Haven Harbor. e complex is slated to be built on a 3-acre parcel that had once been home to the former Lenny & Joe's Fish Tale restaurant, at 501-585 Long Wharf Drive. New Haven officials have been look- ing to revamp the city's waterfront area. Fusco has indicated the project would include a waterfront green space that would be open to the public and could be used for events. Fusco Corp. also offers property management services, and manages more than 5.5 million square feet in Connecticut, New York and Florida, ranging from office developments to retail, medical, laboratory and educa- tional facilities. 19. Marie-Louise Burkle, CEO, Autac Inc. Marie-Louise Burkle has spent more than two de- cades leading the shoreline man- ufacturer Autac Inc. as CEO. e company, founded in 1947, makes coiled cords, oen referred to as curly cords, and distributes its products throughout the United States and internationally. It is also a boutique manufacturer of custom wire and cable. While the company started out in Hamden, it now calls Branford home. Its products are used in various in- dustries, such as power, lighting, food processing, communication, audio and mobile control. Burkle first started working with the company back in 1999 as a forensic business consultant. She later served as its marketing and public relations direc- tor, starting in 2001, and was promoted to CEO in January 2002. Burkle procures sales, markets the company's products and services, handles human resources and builds vendor relationships. She is active with professional organi- zations, and has been a member of Wire Association International, Wire and Cable Manufacturers Alliance and the Connecticut Business & Industry As- sociation. She completed the Women's Leadership Program at the Yale School of Management in 2018 and holds a number of certifications. When not running Autac, Burkle enjoys creating and marketing products for her secondary business, Dragonfly Holistics in Killingworth, which sells a variety of products, including teas, candles, soaps and lotions, and features a meditation studio and yoga classes. Burkle supports charitable organiza- tions such as the Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter in Branford. 20. Jill Mayer, CEO, Bead Industries Jill Mayer is the fih generation leader of Bead Industries Inc., a Milford-based manufacturer of electronic contact pins and supplier of Bead Chain. Mayer serves as CEO of the business, which was founded in 1914 by her great-great-grandfather, Waldo Calvin Bryant. She is responsible for the com- pany's strategic planning, vision and executive leadership. Mayer started working there in 2007 as financial controller, and later was promoted to corporate president before rising to her current role in January 2018. e company has more than 500 patents.
