Stankus focuses her practice on complex business and commercial litigation, representing a broad range of institutional and individual clients in litigation in state and federal trial and appeals courts, and in mediation and arbitration proceedings. She has represented clients in white collar criminal cases, energy- related matters, real estate and land use disputes and trade secret litigation, among other issues. The Insurance Association of Connecticut recently hired Brooke Foley as its general counsel. Foley most recently worked as an attorney in the Legislative Commissioners' Office for the Connecticut General Assembly. Originally from Worcester, Foley, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, received her bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and her law degree from the University of Maryland School of Law in Baltimore. Movers & Shakers Home Sales Attorney Leander Dolphin, who began working at Hartford law firm Shipman & Goodwin in 2004 and was named co- managing partner in 2021, has been promoted to the role of managing partner, effective Jan. 1. Dolphin and Kent Nevins, who will continue to serve as chair of the firm's management committee, will comprise Shipman & Goodwin's leadership team. Also, the firm announced that the management committee has added three partners: Stephen Gellman, Eric Goldstein and Marie Pollio. Connecticut Children's medical center in Hartford announced that Bob Duncan will be its next executive vice president and chief operating officer. Duncan — who last worked at Children's Wisconsin as executive vice president of the hospital and president of Children's Community Health Plan in that state — begins his new job in Hartford on Feb. 7. Leander Dolphin Bob Duncan Brooke Foley Bethany manufacturer LATICRETE has elected Dahra Granovsky as its newest board of directors member. Granovsky, president of BA Folding Box Co., joins LATICRETE with more than 15 years of experience in managing a large family-owned manufacturing business. In her board role, Granovsky will lend her expertise in sustainability and management. Peter Kirschenbaum has joined Hartford investment advisory firm Bradley, Foster & Sargent Inc. Mullins counsels and defends employers, insurance companies, and third-party administrators in all phases of the workers' compensation claims process and also regularly represents clients in civil court in subrogation and third-party lien cases. Kristin K. Mullins Hartford Hospital has named Gregory Latz as its new director of philanthropy. In his new role he will lead the major gifts and planned giving team toward hospital funding priorities. Latz was previously with the Connecticut Children's Medical Center foundation and social services nonprofit The Village for Families & Children.
