V I E W P O I N T S W W W. M A I N E B I Z . B I Z 3 JA N UA R Y 1 0 , 2 0 2 2 From the Editor I n light of the surge of COVID cases in recent weeks, predicting 2022 was no easy feat for the business leaders Mainebiz interviewed. About 20 leaders weighed in with their predictions. While most see increased demand for their products or services, there's a good deal of caution mixed into their comments. As you'll see when you read the remarks, we're not out of the woods by any means. But the busi- ness community will forge ahead — taking restric- tions, mask mandates and curbside pickup in stride, as a part of doing business right now. At this point, that's all we can do. A promotion at Mainebiz Longtime readers of Mainebiz may remember that Donna Brassard retired in March 2021 after more than two decades leading the publication. At that time, Peter Stanton, CEO of our parent company, New England Business Media, took over the role as publisher of Mainebiz. Now, the parent company is pleased to announce the promotion of Andrea Tetzlaff as associate pub- lisher of Mainebiz. Andrea, who has been at Mainebiz since 2013, was previously a sales rep and then, two years ago, was named advertising sales director. She will con- tinue to lead the sales team and will also oversee events and the day-to-day operations at our new office at 15 Franklin St. in Portland. "As part of founding Publisher Donna Brassard's transition plan before she retired, Andrea was given the responsibility to oversee the adver- tising team at Mainebiz. In that role over the last couple of years she has been a terrific contributor, not just on the sales front where she leads a talented team, but as an important member of our leader- ship team," says Stanton. "e move to associate publisher will empower Andrea to continue to grow and further advance Mainebiz's role as a leader in the state's business community." Tom Curtin, president of New England Business Media, added: "We're thrilled to see Andrea taking on an increased role in leading Mainebiz, we have the utmost confidence in her ability to be a real dif- ference maker in the coming years."
