Kelly is responsible for private client growth initiatives, client service and enhancing the company's culture. He brings 15 years of experience in the insurance industry. Lupacchino, a senior vice president of human experience at Hartford HealthCare, had already been serving as interim board president since April, following the resignation of William R. Peelle Jr. Gerard Lupacchino Gov. Ned Lamont has nominated Claire Coleman, currently the undersecretary for legal affairs at the state Office of Policy and Management, to serve as Connecticut's consumer counsel. The consumer counsel serves as an advocate for Connecticut consumers on issues relating to electricity, natural gas, telecommunications and water service, with authority to participate in a range of administrative and judicial forums on their behalf. The position comes with a five-year term. Coleman will begin serving in the new role on an interim basis starting Dec. 3. She has worked at OPM since 2019 and previously worked as an energy attorney at Save the Sound and as a litigation associate at Wiggin and Dana LLP in New Haven. Sabrina Rivera has been named director of digital media at Hartford-based communications firm McDowell Communications Group. Rivera comes to McDowell Communications after overseeing digital and social media for Connecticut's Department of Public Health during its COVID-19 vaccine roll out. At MCG, Rivera will oversee social media for clients, develop digital content and manage the firm's online presence across multiple platforms. Glastonbury design firm SLAM has hired three new employees in its education practice group: James "Jim" Hoagland, Cole Peterson and Victoria Fagan. Hoagland, as a senior design architect, brings more than 25 years of experience in design and master planning and implementation of public, independent and higher education projects, including his present work for SLAM in Connecticut, Rhode Island and New York. Peterson, as a project architect, brings more than 13 years of experience serving as designer, lead interior designer and project architect. Fagan is an architectural designer.
