The project combines solar and agriculture by positioning solar pan- els above an existing wild blueberry farm field. Bar Harbor Bank & Trust presented donations totaling $11,000 to four Northern New England nonprofit or- ganizations from its employee-driven charitable giving program, Casual for A Cause. The Maine-based recipients of the contributions collected in Q3 2021 were Safe Harbor Recovery Home for Women and Children and Veterans Inc. The Maine Community Foundation in Ellsworth said its Conservation for All fund awarded a total of $121,500 in grants this year to 14 organizations in support of conservation projects across the state. Bangor-area lumber retailer is sold Ware-Butler Building Supply, owned by Pleasant River Lumber Co., has acquired Bangor-area building materials retailer Crescent Lumber for an undisclosed price. e addi- tion of four Crescent Lumber sites — in Orrington, Palmyra, Corinth and Stillwater — brings Ware- Butler's reach to 13 stores statewide. e Crescent Lumber stores will continue to do business under that name for the foreseeable future. e acquisition follows the pur- chase of three other deals earlier this year. Crescent Lumber owner Tim Bernard will stay on as part of the team focusing on customer service and sales for the Crescent locations. He also will help Ware-Butler's statewide operations with growth opportunities and projects. With the acquisition, parent company Pleasant River Lumber will employ 687 people in Maine.
