For the 10th year in a row,
MEMIC is returning more than 10 percent of policyholders' premium to employers in nearly
every town in all 16 counties in Maine. This year, more than 14,000 employers who are current
policyholders will receive a check in early November for 12 percent of the premium they paid to
MEMIC back in 2018.
Since 1998, MEMIC has returned a total of $316 million to employers based on strong financial
results, fueled by fewer workforce injuries and diligent injury management. That record of success
is testament to all our policyholders who have helped make safety part of their daily routines. In
fact, injuries in Maine have been reduced by more than 50 percent, which has dropped the cost of
insurance by more than 60 percent since the landmark reforms of 1992.
