What is your advice for women starting their careers? Find one or more mentors. Be a lifelong
learner. Trust your instincts. Be respectful. Ask questions. Seek out feedback. Maintain your
integrity. Push yourself out of your comfort zone. Be open to growth opportunities. Start to build
your professional network. Remember laughter is a great de-stresser!
What is the main reason for your success? Being fortunate to be surrounded by a supportive
network: my family as well as my colleagues at Mirick, in the HR profession, and in the community,
many of whom have become friends and trusted colleagues.
What is the best way to find work/life balance? Identify your priorities, personal and professional,
and structure your time accordingly. Find ways to integrate your priorities when possible, e.g., if
you're volunteering in the community, bring your family with you. Try to find at least a few minutes
each day to focus on your own health.
