And together with our partners and thousands of local supporters, Federation is transforming the Jewish dream of a better world into reality. In partnership with the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Hartford, we distributed over $600,000 for COVID-19 rapid relief and recovery, providing kosher meals, emergency financial assistance, and vital social support to our homebound neighbors and keeping the doors of local agencies open to all in need. That's in addition to over $5 million raised through Federation's Annual Campaign and restricted revenue, which supports Jewish education for all ages; interfaith alliances to combat hate; volunteer opportunities that strengthen our towns and neighborhoods; security planning, training, and infrastructure for local Jewish institutions; and a rich array of safety net services for vulnerable Jews everywhere. Federation is among the first to respond to war, acts of terrorism, and natural disasters around the world, providing humanitarian and educational support. Locally, we support literacy programs for at-risk students and programs that teach tolerance in Connecticut's schools. We train the next generation of Jewish leaders and teachers and provide interest-free loans to Jewish families and small businesses in need. And we're there in the toughest times – funding culturally competent senior care, behavioral health care, and dignified burials for indigent Jews. Federation's Dignity Grows provided over 10,000 totes filled with hygiene supplies to local people in need this year, through Distribution Partners like Hartford's Camp Courant. Federation provides vital funding to both of Greater Hartford's Jewish day schools: Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Hartford and the New England Jewish Academy. Officers: Designated Board Members: WAYS TO GET INVOLVED Whether you're a business leader, philanthropist, perpetual learner or hands-on volunteer, Federation needs you. BUSINESS PARTNERSHIPS AND RECRUITMENT Our Business Partners help offset the costs of Federation events and programs so we can do more good with Annual Campaign contributions. GREATER HARTFORD JEWISH LEADERSHIP ACADEMY The Academy provides individualized leadership development based on Jewish values to help our community adapt and respond to an ever- changing environment. Managed by Federation with support from the Jewish Community Foundation and other generous funders, it draws on local and national best practices and engages top experts in the field. We invite you to learn and invest with us. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES Federation offers many ways to live out our shared values – and you don't have to be Jewish to participate. You can read to an at-risk student (even virtually!) as a Children's Reading Partners volunteer, help local people meet their basic needs through Dignity Grows, grow and harvest produce for the hungry at Jessie's Community Gardens, and much more. POST-PANDEMIC The pandemic has made Federation stronger and more relevant than ever – mobilizing Greater Hartford's Jewish community and its neighbors to swiftly meet new challenges, no matter what form they may take. We will continue to foster Jewish collaboration, innovation, and rapid response to urgent needs in our region, across the country, in Israel, and around the world.
