StuffMadeinMA.com • 2 0 2 1 • S T U F F 37 Position: Group Leader Age: 28 School: Worcester Vocational Technical High School Years at Company: 9.5 years Marcus started at Saint-Gobain PCR in the entry level position of Molder I but quickly progressed within his department to Molder II, Ceramic Heat Shield Operator, and Advanced Molder. As he developed, he desired more challenges and responsibility so he applied for, and won, a Group Leader position. At first, he was put in charge of the Hydraulic Molding Work Center which is where many new hires begin. In that role, he was able to mentor and shape the newer workforce. Now, he leads multiple Molding work centers and sits on the Quality Improvement Team to address quality concerns in the plant. He enjoys working for Saint-Gobain due to the culture. Marcus states "It feels like a family – we celebrate each other's accomplishments and life milestones." Regarding his efforts on the Quality Improvement Team, Marcus states "There is a new challenge every day. I dislike waste and rooting it out and correcting it is very fulfilling to me". Marcus Blair Position: Group Leader Age: 32 School: Burncoat Senior High Years at Company: 7 years Lloyd started at Saint-Gobain PCR as an entry level Molder I. Early on, he realized with consistent effort and drive, he was good at producing great quality product. This motivated him to continue to progress and develop, becoming one of the most skilled Advanced Molders in the Department. He was also a Designated Trainer so he would be routinely paired up with a new employee and help them onboard successfully. This led to him being awarded a Group Leader position and he is now in charge of the Hydraulic Work Center in Molding. About his new role, Lloyd states "I like that I can help employees be more successful. In the Group Leader role, I'm able to help troubleshoot, analyze, and correct issues on the floor. Things don't always go according to plan so you have to think outside the box and adapt to the changing environment. I feel satisfied when I've had a smooth day and was able to address all concerns and unplanned events". Lloyd Agyeman Position: EHS Engineer Age: 31 School: Blackstone Valley Technical High School Years at Company: 7 years Amber started as a temporary resource helping with various administrative tasks. She helped the Customer Service, Health and Safety, Human Resources, and Sales Teams with analysis and reporting. During this time, she developed a passion for safety. Eventually, an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist role opened and Amber went for it. Over the past 5 years, Amber has been instrumental in running the Health and Safety programs within the factory. She is the leader of the Safety Improvement Team and the Employee Safety Committee. This past year she was promoted to EHS Engineer and continues to make every effort to make the facility a safer place for our team members.
