Examples of our efforts include relationship support groups, a technology lending program to access agency programs, mask compliance to increase safe access to community activities, and the expansion of our Family Emergency Fund. The agency will also continue to expand critical educational, clinical, family support and training programs, advocating for more adequate mental and behavioral health service capacity throughout the state. FUNDRAISING EVENTS/ OPPORTUNITIES Woodfords' annual Auction Gala is the agency's largest fundraising event. e event is typically held in September and attended by 300 area business leaders, consumer families and elected officials. SERVICE LOCATIONS Each year, Woodfords provides direct services to more than 2,000 children, youth and adults with autism, developmental disabili- ties, intellectual disabilities and/or mental health diagnoses in 13 Maine counties, while also providing training and other support to hundreds of professionals, schools and organizations throughout the state. AWARDS/ACCOLADES Woodfords is proud to have continued to grow its reach despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. The agency's Children's Behavioral Health Homes Program reached a major milestone, serving more than 500 children with special needs and their families throughout the state! The Behavioral Health Homes Program provides case-management-related services to children and their families. / In September 2020, the agency expanded its school-based programs to include a K-2 Special Purpose Private School Program with classrooms in its Westbrook and Pineland Early Childhood Services locations. In September 2021, the agency grew this program to include grades 3-5, and added a classroom in its Waterville location. / Additionally, the State of Maine grew its relationship with Woodfords through an extension and expansion of a contract to administer the Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) Training & Certificate Program which benefits organizations and school districts statewide. In addition to overseeing the certification of all BHPs statewide, the agency has launched a multi-faceted statewide recruitment effort to encourage all types of job seekers to enroll in the BHP Training & Certificate program and find employment throughout the state. / Lastly, the agency achieved re-accredita- tion through the nationally recognized Council on Accreditation. Volunteers can help make introductions to these organizations. Put an event together and donate the funds to the agency or, join in an event like the Red Knight's annual motorcycle ride by coordinating a group to participate. 275 auction items in both silent and live events. Cocktails, dinner and a Wall of Wine raffle are also part of the program. Sponsorships, auction item donations, and bidding on items during the auction are ways that businesses and donors can get involved. If you are interested in serving on the Auction Committee, email development@woodfords.org. e Superhero 5K is typically held the first Saturday in June at Pineland Farms in New Gloucester. During the pandemic in 2020 and 2021, the 5K was hosted virtually. More than 275 people in superhero costumes complete the run. Businesses and donors can sponsor the event, register a team to participate or make a donation in support of a runner. Sponsor a company team to compete against a rival department, branch or business. Registration opens January 1. If you are interested in serving on the Superhero 5K Committee along with Old Port Batman and Batgirl, email development@woodfords.org. Businesses also host their own fundraising events for the agency. ese include retail sales events, office jeans days, dining promotions, holiday drives, and more. If you are interested in hosting a fundraiser for Woodfords, email development@woodfords.org. GIVING OPPORTUNITIES Become an annual corporate sponsor to support agency operations. Let the agency know if your company would be willing to accept a request or proposal for partnership. Host a collection drive for critical supplies, including toiletries, diapers, craft items, and more. Purchase items of need from our Amazon Wish List. Support one of our Facebook Fundraisers. Does your business or employer have tickets or passes to sporting events, cultural institutions or amusement parks? Consider donating a block of tickets to individuals who otherwise may not be able to attend. Your donation would be appreciated by our families or residential consumers. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES Typically Woodfords engages volunteers in hands-on projects—seasonal garden and playground projects; maintenance or improvement projects; or assisting at consumer events for children such as our Halloween Party.
