Looking forward to the remainder of 2021 and 2022, Waban will: f Undergo a new round of strategic planning to assess long-term goals as well as evaluate some of our most pressing challenges. f Continue to respond to the increas- ing incidence of autism in children (1 in 54) by encouraging early diagnosis and intervention in order to reduce lifetime care costs. f Provide enrichment opportunities in order for children and adolescents to reach their full potential. e Fraser- Ford Child Development Center provides full day, year-long special purpose therapeutic preschool and kindergarten through fourth grade programs in an inclusive environment. FUNDRAISING EVENTS/ OPPORTUNITIES The Annual Waban Telethon is Waban's foremost fundraising event: f In May of 2022, we'll shift the focus of the previous 50 years to create a new live event, centered at our historic waterfront camp. is important fundraiser benefits Waban's Fraser-Ford Child Develop- ment Center and its Children's Case Management and Outpatient Services. Every September Waban hosts its annual Golf Tournament. is year on Friday, September 24, we'll host Waban's 10 th annual tournament. f Funds raised at the golf tournament support Waban's athletes at the Maine Special Olympics.
