The YWCA is looking for volunteers to serve as Girls CHOICE mentors for middle and high school girls; help with special event fundraising; serve as a program intern; and to assist with ongoing building maintenance. To find out more, contact Human Resources at hr@ywcacm.org or complete a volunteer application available at ywcacm.org. FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITIES VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES POST-PANDEMIC: The YWCA determined how to provide crucial services to domestic violence survivors, housing for low-income women, and childcare for essential pandemic workers while maintaining the safety of all involved. We learned how to conduct business virtually where possible. Virtual options gave us a new way to connect with our constituents, some of whom might struggle to participate in person – even without pandemic restrictions. Going forward, virtual participation will continue to provide a convenient and effective way for some to participate. The YWCA's mission is bold. It creates support systems for women, children, and families and strategically strengthens laws and protections for the most vulnerable populations. The YW is at the forefront of our most important discussions: race, equality, pay equity, and prevention of violence. This is why the YW mission resonates with me. – Roberta Brien, Board President Annual Appeals: Funds raised provide unrestricted gifts that close the gap between the true costs of operating programs and existing funding.
