If interested in volunteering, please email givetime@veteransinc.org. GIVING OPPORTUNITIES VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES POST-PANDEMIC: Monetary donations gratefully accepted year-round to include donations in honor or in memory of a loved one. We heavily rely on an Annual Appeal sent out in November. With a donation of at least $100, donors will receive a beautiful official White House Christ- mas Ornament. Our goal is to raise $200,000 to support programs throughout the year. Consider organizing a donation drive, making a pledge or legacy gift. Supporters may choose to provide items from our Wish List for clients. We accept toiletries, gift cards, food, clothing, vehicles and other in-kind donations. In order to continue to serve over 6,000 individuals each year in our Food Pantry, we need to keep our food stocked; we accept non-perishable food items all year long. We will be seeking Thanksgiving food items for our Holiday Harvest and sponsors for our Giving Tree to help provide presents for over 400 needy children during the holiday season. Email donations@veteransinc.org, or visit our website www.veteransinc.org and click on "Donate Now." FUNDRAISING EVENTS Veterans Inc. quickly adapted and implemented protocols to ensure the health and safety of staff and clients being served. We hired nursing and clinical staff to provide needed support. We adopted a pre-registration for client service events. All participants and staff of residential and inpatient programs continue to wear masks and social distance. The effects of the pandemic continue to be a challenge in the lives of those we serve. We have seen an increase and predict a further surge of persons seeking emergency housing, rental assistance, support for substance use and mental health issues, and employment and training services. As a pediatrician, it is my lifelong passion to care for the wellbeing of families. My practice is built on a holistic model of care. Veterans Inc. brings that same holistic model of care to the veterans it serves. As a veteran of the United States Airforce, I am passionate about the mission and honored to serve and give back to an organization that has done so much for our veterans to include successfully piloting the first of its kind program for female veterans and their dependents, since this cohort is among the most vulnerable of our veteran population. – Dr. Barbara Rugo, MD, Major, USAF Veteran, Kids on the Common Pediatrics
