Rainbow's volunteers are vital and have a positive impact on hundreds of low-income children. Below lists volunteer opportunities where passion and positivity are the only requirements. • Committee Involvement: Advancement and Special Events • Share a special skill or hobby with school-age children between the hours of 3:00-5:00 p.m. Volunteers are needed to read with children, play a board game or share a creative talent. • Foster children's mind growth by mentoring a school age child who enjoys Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and/or Math. • Lead small groups of children in music, dance, gardening or yoga. • Join the Center's Parent Task Force. • Attend the Center's family and community events, art exhibits and literacy celebrations. FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITIES VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES POST-PANDEMIC: Throughout the pandemic, Rainbow adhered to all COVID-19 restrictions and regulations as documented by the CDC and the MA Department of Early Education and Care. All staff and children followed social distancing, wearing masks, and frequent hand washing. Only Rainbow staff were allowed in the building until EEC lifted the restrictions at the end of April 2021. COVID changes that will remain are: • Rainbow will continue to frequently communicate to parents and caretakers to not send their children to the program if they have been exposed to COVID-19 or exhibit any COVID-19 symptoms; • Practice social physical distancing; • Promote frequent hand washing; • Isolate sick or symptomatic individuals; • Continue routine and targeted deep cleaning of Rainbow's facilities; • Mask mandate will continue to be enforced for adults and children while at Rainbow as long as it is recommended by the CDC and MA Department of Early Education and Care. • Sponsor Rainbow Child Development Center's Annual Golf Tournament. • Designate a donation to continue Rainbow CDC's STEM, literacy, speech and language development, the arts, and/or healthy lifestyle initiatives. • Sponsor a family friendly event for Rainbow's children and parents, i.e., ice cream social or cookout for Rainbow's children and their families.
