74 HARTFORDBUSINESS.COM | AUGUST 23, 2021 Kimberly Napp CPA Q: What did the 40 Under Forty award mean to you? I was completely honored to receive the 40 Under Forty award in 2019. I have spent my entire career at Whittlesey and had just achieved my long-term goal of becoming a partner. While this was a significant accomplishment in itself, I had the incredible honor of being named a 40 Under Forty in the same year. These events reaffirmed that there are no shortcuts, and through consistency and perseverance, you can accomplish anything you put your mind to. As a single mother, to receive this award with my son at my side was an amazing moment and one we will never forget. This award demonstrated to my son that a job well done does not go unnoticed, and that sacrifice and hard work yield results in the long run. Being recognized by the HBJ further confi rmed that moving to Connecticut was, indeed, the right choice! Since my 2019 award, I grew Johndrow Wealth by 20% annually. I led my clients through the COVID-19 market recession. I continued to provide fi nancial literacy to the public on diffi cult topics like recessions and elections via webinars and guest appearances on NBC. I hired two new associates who I am now mentoring to continue to provide our clients with the best customer experience. And — despite a pandemic — I continued to volunteer. I virtually led weekly events for the Hartford Boys & Girls Club with the Junior League and was recognized as "Active of the Year." I appreciate HBJ's recognition, and I commit to continuing to proudly serve Connecticut. Q: What did the 40 Under Forty award mean to you? I started my career in New York City, considered the fi nance capital, so many misunderstood my departure to Connecticut. I knew, however, that a woman- owned fi nancial fi rm Johndrow Wealth Management | 2 Bridgewater Rd., Suite 101 Farmington, CT 06032 Phone: 860-470-7424, ext. 105 Securities and advisory services off ered through Commonwealth Financial Network, member FINRA/SIPC, a registered investment adviser. I will never forget the experience and the continued responsibility to make a difference in Connecticut. I have the great fortune of working with talented people and creative small business owners who inspire me with their success stories every day. Professionally, I have left Cigna and moved to Hartford Chamber of Commerce, a new initiative of the MetroHartford Alliance. Working through the Chamber I can use all my past experiences to have an impact on the communities and businesses together. I have been able to highlight more businesses in every community to ensure they are successful, especially during and after COVID-19, and then attract more businesses and more people to experience Hartford. I want them to see what I see and explore and to embrace Hartford like Hartford has embraced me.
