I have witnessed the pride of students and their families on Graduation Day as they cross the finish line they worked tirelessly to reach. But the biggest accomplishment in my career has been seeing our vision for the future of Paier College come to life through the acquisition of our new campus in Bridgeport. We now have a world-class facility with a view of Connecticut's beautiful shoreline. This remarkable learning environment will serve as a source of creativity and inspiration to help propel our students towards success and achievement for many years to come. Seeing the Paier College mission realized on this campus through the hard work and dedication of our faculty, staff, and administrators gives me a tremendous sense of hope and fulfillment. I know this next chapter for Paier College will benefit not only our Paier community but the city of Bridgeport and the surrounding community. Joseph Bierbaum Year Won: 2013 Current Title: President Company: Paier College Current Age: 35 40 Q: What is your biggest professional accomplishment since receiving this award? I have been incredibly fortunate in my career to engage with thousands of students seeking to advance themselves personally, academically and professionally. I have also had the honor of working alongside hundreds of Reem Nouh Q: What did the 40 Under Forty award mean to you? R eceiving the 40 Under Forty award back in 2013 made me feel HAPPY! I was Honored to have received this special recognition and be Appreciated for the work I enjoy doing every day. I became Part of a treasured group of friends and colleagues. At the time, I was Pregnant with my son, Kareem, and he is almost 8 now! My favorite memory from the evening of the award ceremony was dancing up on stage "super pregnant" to the song "Walk like an Egyptian" while my friends and family cheered me on. I remember Yelling "wohoo" from the top of my lungs!! I am truly lucky to get to work with such amazing colleagues and clients, every day at Adams & Knight. I would like to also take this opportunity to thank The HBJ for recognizing my accomplishments and awarding me as a 2021 Women In Business. I am humbled and grateful. T wo milestones come to mind when I think of the years since being recognized as a 40 Under Forty recipient: being selected as a member of the business journal's 2018 Women In Business class and Year Won: 2013 Current Title: Principal, President of Media Only Company: Mintz + Hoke Current Age: 46 40 becoming President of the Media Only division at Mintz + Hoke in 2019. Leading this team of media strategists, planners and buyers is something I am honored to do each and every day. We immerse ourselves in the media consumption behaviors of our clients' customers to design media programs that move people to action. I've seen team members light up with excitement when creating new activations and exceeding client expectations. This passion and growth among team members is what I am most proud of. When teams are committed and excited to do the work, the revenue and business success follows. We keep learning and growing together every day. Media never stops evolving and neither do we. Shaun Sheridan CPA Q: What is your biggest professional accomplishment since receiving this award? W hen I received this award in 2013, I was an assurance manager at Whittlesey. One of your reporters asked me at the time, "Where do you want to be 10 years from now?" Eerily, I answered, "A successful partner at Whittlesey, still live in Hartford and still enjoy life." Since then, I have had many opportunities to step into leadership roles at the fi rm. In 2019, I became a partner. Becoming a partner is my biggest career accomplishment. A fun fact is that I still live in Hartford and still enjoy life.
