Bernier has been with Webster for over 18 years. He started as a part-time teller, quickly moving up and through every position within the banking center to his current role for the last four years. In his current position, Bernier is responsible for customer satisfaction and retention; revenue generation; banker performance and development for 17 offices and over 100 employees. What's been your biggest professional/work accomplishment so far in your career? I led my teams through unprecedented changes in 2020 as we temporarily adopted drive- through banking with lobby by appointment, quarantined teams, remote coaching and adapted digital meeting platforms — all while being remote. It was critical I remained positive to keep my teams engaged, checking on team morale frequently. M onique Biggs is an Assistant Director of Media, Public and Community Relations at The Hartford where she works collaboratively with the other members of the marketing and communications and group benefits teams. She oversees public and community relations activities aimed at raising the visibility of the company's brand and reputation. She also manages The Hartford's adaptive sports program, Ability Equipped. This public relations campaign increases access to adaptive sports equipment for athletes across the country. Manages The Hartford's Ability Equipped program, which empowers youth and adults with disabilities to achieve amazing things by making adaptive equipment and sports more accessible. 2. Workplace co-lead for BIPN, the company's Black Professionals Employee Resource Group. 3. Serves on the board for Re- Center where I help to drive transformation towards racially just schools and communities throughout the state. 4. Founder of Hartford Youth Lacrosse, which introduces inner city youth to lacrosse while helping to develop leadership skills. What's been your biggest professional/work accomplishment so far in your career? My best professional accomplishment to date is being selected as a "2020 Chairman's Award Winner" for character.
