He has overseen numerous single and multi-family home constructions, existing home rehabs and repair projects. In 2013, he became a licensed contractor and Construction Manager and helped Springfield Habitat achieve their strategic plan, serving 30 families in three years. Now, as Director of Construction, McKelvie manages a staff of site supervisors, subcontractors, vendors, countless volunteers and Americorps and ConnectiCorps members. Passionate about creating a work atmosphere that welcomes feedback, collaboration and respect for each other and those we serve. 3. Volunteered with Habitat in Guatemala building smokeless stoves and in Vietnam building clay brick homes. 4. Guarantees a fun and productive build day for volunteers and a high-quality, affordable home for Habitat families. What's been your biggest professional/work accomplishment so far in your career? I led the design and directed construction of Hartford Habitat's first Zero Energy Home. The project received numerous awards, the most notable being the National Grand Winner of the 2020 Department of Energy Housing Innovation Award in the Affordable category. E milee Mooney Scott assists clients in complying with federal and state environmental laws, with a particular focus on the management of hazardous and toxic substances. In particular, she has assisted clients with Toxic Substances Control Act registration and reporting requirements; Emergency Planning and Community Right-to- Know Act compliance and facility chemical safety matters. Mooney Scott also helps clients understand, manage and limit environmental risk associated with business and property transactions. Four reasons why you deserve to be a 40 Under Forty: 1. Advanced from Summer Associate to Partner with one of Connecticut's largest law firms. 2. Participating in a working group to shape Connecticut's environmental laws for the next generation. 3. West Hartford native and graduate of the West Hartford Public Schools, now serving on the West Hartford Conservation and Environment Commission. 4. Gives back to the community by serving organizations focused on children and the outdoors: Auerfarm, Friends of Fernridge Park and the Girl Scouts. Fun Fact In addition to her legal writing, Emilee has also published knitting patterns. D r. Hassan Minhas is a psychiatrist with training in adult, pediatric and forensic psychiatry. As the Chief of Autism Services at the Hospital for Special Care, he oversees treatment in a variety of settings. He has been an integral part of expanding the continuum of care at HFSC, which includes the recent opening of a $13 million inpatient and partial hospital facility, which is an international leader in providing quality care to children with Autism. Four reasons why you deserve to be a 40 Under Forty: 1. Led a team at the Hospital for Special Care to expand existing services, and develop new service delivery for children with Autism. 2. Is the medical director of Turnbridge — a treatment provider for children and adults with mental health and substance use issues 3. Teaches and supervises forensic psychiatry fellows at the Yale School of Medicine, in the Division of Law and Psychiatry. 4. Established international collaborations, to help service providers develop treatment programs and research methodologies in the mental health field. What's been your biggest professional/work accomplishment so far in your career? The development and expansion of intensive treatment options for children with Autism. There are only a handful of inpatient facilities for children with Autism across the country.
