UMass Medical School to require COVID vaccine UMass Medical School in Worcester announced on Aug. 11 it plans to require that all faculty, staff and stu- dents receive the COVID-19 vaccine by Sept. 7, after which those who are non- compliant will have their ID badge deactivated. Those who have not received at least one dose by that time may potentially be fired or face other ramifications. The vaccine requirement for employ- ees, the school said, aligns with a vacci- nation requirement already in place for students. The requirement will apply to all vendors and visitors on campus, as well as UMass Medical employees who work remotely or in a hybrid model. The school said it would consider medical and religious accommodations. In its announcement UMass Medical said all faculty, staff and students will still be required to follow campus COVID-19 regulations, regardless of vaccination status, including masking indoors and participating in what the school called surveillance testing for those who come to campus. Insulet furthers global expansion into Australia Acton insulin technology delivery Insulet Corp. launched its Omnipod Dash Insulin Management System in Australia on Aug. 11. The Omnipod technology offers peo- ple with diabetes a waterproof, wear- able insulin pump, and is the first of its kind to become available in Australia.
