Smith previously served as head of biologics manufacturing at Sanofi Pasteur, which is headquartered in France. She holds a PhD in medicinal chemistry from the University Louis Pasteur and a bachelor of science in chemical engineering from the École Européenne des Hautes Études des Industries Chimiques de Strasbourg in France. Harrington HealthCare System in Southbridge named Dr. SARAH DAIGLE as medical director of the Wound Care Center at Harrington in Charlton. She will lead the center, which provides treatment for non- healing and chronic wounds. Daigle previously worked at the Harrington Physicians Services Orthopedic practice and specializes in foot and ankle medicine and surgery. AdCare Hospital in Worcester appointed Dr. ROMAS BUIVYDAS to the position of vice president of clin- ical services. His responsibilities will include overseeing the inpatient clinical program. Buivydas previously worked as vice president of develop- ment and compliance for Spotlyte Health in Philadelphia and holds a PhD in clinical counseling from St. James University in Illinois and a master's degree in applied psychology and behavioral medicine from Boston University. Marlborough nonprofit Thrive Support & Advocacy named STACEY FORREST as its first chief operating officer. In her role, she will coordinate overall planning and direction of the human service agency's operations and programs. Forrest previously worked for more than 15 years as a direct care staff member and later executive director of the Connecticut division of JRI, a human services agency in Needham. Venture Community Services in Sturbridge, a nonprofit providing human services, selected DAMIEN PITTOLA as its new vice president of human resources & professional development. Pittola previously served as vice president of human resources for Partners for Community and Affiliates in Springfield. He has a bachelor's degree and master's degree in labor and employee relations from Penn State University. KRISTEN CARIGLIA was named the new director of the Horace Mann Educational Associates' Autism Resource Central in Worcester. Cariglia started her career at HMEA in 2002 as an applied behavior analysis therapist. Most recently, she served as director of operations of the organization. Reliant Medical Group in Worcester welcomed Dr. KATHRYN CHEHADE to its department of optometry. She received her medical degree from New England College of Optometry and completed her residency at Boston VA Healthcare System. Prior to joining, she worked in several clinical settings including being a clinical preceptor for optometry students. Dr. DORA PEPO joined Worcester-based Reliant Medical Group's department of optometry. She received her medical degree from New England College of Optometry and completed her residency in ocular disease and primary eye care at Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford. Pepo previously was an optometrist and in a private practice in Olympia, Wash.
