Maine's Forest Opportunity Roadmap or FOR/Maine announced the release of its Workforce Development Strategy for the Forest Products Industry. The report was prepared by the Center for Business and Economic Research at the University of Southern Maine. The Guy P. Gannett Journalism Scholarship Fund and the Agnes Freyer Gibbs Scholarship Fund of the Maine Community Foundation in Ellsworth awarded a total of $335,000 in schol- arships to 16 Maine high school gradu- ates. Biofine Developments Northeast Inc. of Maine, the town of Lincoln and the Lincoln Lakes Innovation Corp. an- nounced that a tentative agreement was reached for Biofine to locate its multi-phase biofuels refinery develop- ment on the former mill site in the town of Lincoln. Green Valley Association, a social ser- vice agency in Island Falls, announced that it will be ceasing operations. Independence Advocates of Maine in Orono will be absorbing the associa- tion's assets and will continue provid- ing services to the area.
