he state Department of
Economic and Community
Development has launched
a new website with the aim
of showcasing and promoting
Connecticut's strong points for young
professionals.
The page, www.CTForMe.com,
and an accompanying Instagram
account feature original and curated
content such as videos, fi rst-person
testimonials, statistics, news stories
and networking resources, all
designed to highlight Connecticut's
economic and cultural advantages.
State offi cials said the content
will focus mainly on themes of
particular interest to young, educated
people, including walkable cities,
open spaces, arts, sustainability,
employment opportunities and
diversity.
Alluding to the infl ux of New
Yorkers into Fairfi eld and Litchfi eld
counties seen during the height of
the COVID-19 pandemic last year,
Gov. Ned Lamont said the state has
a window to capitalize on changing
work-life preferences and draw
more people to the state's cities and
suburbs.

Study: Greater Hartford
53rd-best place to live in
U.S.
Hartford and its surrounding
communities are getting high marks
for their cultural institutions, scenic
neighborhoods and overall high
quality of life in a new study from
U.S. News & World Report.
The publication ranked the Hartford
metro area 53rd on its annual "Best
Places to Live" report, placing the
region just outside the top third of the
150-place list. The study examines
metrics such as job market quality,
weather, housing costs, commute
times and diversity.
Analysts highlighted attractions
such as the Wadsworth Atheneum
and the historic residences of Mark
Twain and Harriet Beecher Stowe, all
situated in Hartford, and praised the
region's abundance of performance
venues, restaurants and state parks.
CT venues receive nearly
$65M from federal grant
program
Connecticut entertainment venues
and museums have received nearly
$65 million in federal aid through the
Shuttered Venue Operators Grant
program.
The program, a carve-out of the
American Rescue Plan, was signed
into law at the end of last year, and
includes $15 billion in relief grants
to closed entertainment venues,
according to the Small Business
Administration.
Ninety-four Connecticut entities
received awards between $15,000
— Main Street Ballet Company in
Woodbridge — to $8.8 million —
North American Entertainment Group
in Guilford — according to SBA data
