Country Bank's philanthropic efforts in 2020, exceeded $1 million and supported more than 450 orga- nizations. Paul Scully, President and CEO of Country Bank, said, "We continually look for opportunities where we can help make a difference in the health and well-being of the people in our communities" Throughout 2020, Country Bank facilitated donations to select organizations throughout its market from Springfield to Worcester. The Bank gave $25,000 each to the Greater Worcester Community Foundation and the Community Foundation of Western Mass. to provide additional grant funding for critical needs programs. The pandemic brought to the forefront the issue of food insecurity in Central Massachusetts. Country Bank stepped in at Thanksgiving to help support local families in partnership with Old Sturbridge Village. Not only did Country Bank provide financial support, but it also delivered and distributed 750 meals to St. John's Food for the Poor, YWCA, Abby's House, Veterans Inc. and Elm Street Congregational Church. In December 2020, Country Bank entered into an elite-lev- el corporate sponsorship arrangement as a Founding Partner of the Worcester Red Sox. This partnership underscores their mutual commitment to the community through the WooSox Foundation and Country Bank's Charitable Giving Program, which supports local non-profits through a combined com- munity giving campaign. The two programs are the "WooStar and Most Valuable Teacher" offered throughout the baseball season. While the pandemic imposed significant hardships on many area businesses, it failed to slow down Country Bank. Throughout 2020, the bank continued – and in some cases – ramped up its philanthropic efforts and created new partner- ships with several area entities. To continue the good work Country Bank has done throughout the past year, at its Annual Meeting on June 21, 2021, held at Polar Park, Country Bank President and CEO Paul Scully announced a 1 million dollar pledge to the Worcester County and Western Mass Food Banks. "In recognizing the burdens that many have experi- enced throughout this past year, Country Bank is "Throwing Hunger a Curve Ball" by pledging 1 million dollars to the communities it serves. Supporting and enriching its communities has been the Bank's mission since 1850," stated Scully. n Country Bank: Turning Challenges into Opportunities Street Address: 315 Main Street, Worcester, MA Phone Number: 508-753-7486 Website: www.countrybank.com Product or Service Description: Financial Services Number of Employees: 203 Head of Company and Title: Paul F.
