(Order based on sales date) By Greg Bordonaro and Michelle Tuccito Sullo Hamden auto dealerships trade hands; real estate sells for $8.9M S everal Hamden auto dealerships and the accompanying real estate — all for- merly owned by local businessman Lee Partyka — have sold to a New Jersey operator with a growing Connecticut footprint. e Chevrolet, Mazda and Isuzu Trucks dealerships at 200 Skiff St. have sold to Skiff Street Realty LLC, which is controlled by Patrick DiBre. DiBre is the president and CEO of New Jersey-based PSD Automotive Group, which operates auto dealerships in New Jersey, California, Virginia, Connecticut and elsewhere, according to his LinkedIn page. DiBre purchased the businesses for an undisclosed sum, but land records show he paid $8.9 million for the real estate involved in the transaction, which includes three lots. In addition to 200 Skiff St., DiBre purchased a nearby gas station and car wash, which are operated by leased tenants, and another lot at 214 Skiff St., according to Paul Pawlowski, an attorney who represents DiBre. "ere are no plans to change anything," Pawlowski said. "Our intention is to oper- ate the business." e new ownership has rehired all of the existing staff at the three dealerships, he said. DiBre isn't new to the Connecticut market. His company also operates deal- erships in Middletown, Manchester and Wilton, Pawlowski said. PHOTO | COSTAR Branford apartments sell for $2.7 million An 18-unit apartment complex in Bran- ford has sold for $2.7 million, town records show. e property at 78 Cedar St. sold in April for $148,611 per unit to 78 Cedar LLC, which is controlled by Maia Chiat and Sandor Seidman. e seller was LZ Group LLC, which is controlled by Albert F. Ridinger Jr. and Randy Poxson. e apartment complex was built in 1960, sits on 0.9 acres and has 23 surface parking spaces, according to CoStar. Northeast Private Client Group was the listing broker, according to CoStar. Startup biotech company leases Branford space A fledgling biotech company, Abbratech Inc., has leased a 5,000-square-foot space for research and development at 25 Business Park Drive in Branford. Linda Stevens, executive director for the company, said it is the first time the startup is getting its own space, as it previously has been sharing a suite at nearby 21 Business Park Drive. Terms of the lease were not disclosed. Michael P. Weiner, who is CEO and founder, is listed as the company's princi- pal with the Secretary of the State's office. Weiner has held several biotech positions during his career, such as vice president of molecular sciences at Abcam, and founder and chief scientific officer with AxioMx Inc. Abbratech, founded in 2020, is working to apply knowledge from the past 15 years of human genome sequencing and Ab (anti- body) engineering to produce recombinant Abs, according to its website. e company says its technological advances allow it to make antibodies with targeted precision. Antibodies play a key role in the body's immune system. Richard Guralnick of O,R&L Commer- cial's Branford office represented both the landlord, Business Park Realty LLC, and Abbratech Inc. in the deal.
