Workers will have the option to work remotely or in the Rocky Hill office. Harvard Pilgrim completed its merger with fellow Massachusetts- based nonprofit insurer, Tufts Health Plan, on Jan. 1. Mass. developer to build warehouse in Windsor A Massachusetts-based developer is moving forward with plans to build a distribution warehouse in Windsor. According to documents submitted to town officials, Condyne Capital Partners, of Braintree, is looking to build a 166,375-square-foot facility at 105 Baker Hollow Road. The local planning and zoning commission recently signed off on Condyne's site plan, subject to final approval. Windsor Town Planner Eric Barz said the warehouse is expected to be divided among four tenants. The facility is being built "on spec," Barz said, meaning the company has not yet lined up leases for the space. Condyne will likely find no shortage of takers. Connecticut has become a major landing spot for warehousing and distribution operations over the last several years, mainly due to the rise of e-commerce and the state's proximity to both New York City and Boston. Stanley President Allan en- courages Asia Pacific trade engagement at U.S. Senate hearing At a U.S. Senate hearing June 22, Stanley Black & Decker President Don Allan said engaging with countries in Asia while lifting tariffs on Chinese goods would increase the American manufacturing industry's competitiveness. The hearing of the Senate Finance Committee focused on strategic multilateral trade policy in the Asia Pacific region. During his testimony Allan, who became president of the New Britain-based tool manufacturing giant in February, said he believes the U.S. should develop a strategy that increases trade partnerships in the Asia and Asia Pacific region. "Strengthening commercial and diplomatic ties with countries including South Korea, Japan, India and other allies will ensure that no one country is over-relied on for serving the world, and particularly the U.S. market." During his testimony, Allan also touted Stanley's efforts over the past decade to reshore much of the company's manufacturing to the U.S. He noted that Stanley is establishing the headquarters for the Craftsman hand-tool brand — which Stanley acquired in 2017 — in Fort Worth, Texas, after the previous owner located it in China. "Our hiring and investment in the U.S. is the manifestation of our commitment made about 10 years ago to move supply chain and manufacturing closer to our customers," Allan said. Don Allan
