Sturbridge dispensary opens, plans second Cape location for fall Cannabis company Heal, Inc. opened its first dispensary on May 21, officially setting up shop at 660 Main St. in Sturbridge. e adult-use dispensary, which received its com- mence operations approval from the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission on May 13, will be open by appointment only, in conjunction with Stur- bridge regulations, according to Heal, Inc. For the time being, Heal is retailing products made by other manufacturers, although the company is in the process of building a 50,000-square-foot cultiva- tion and processing facility with hopes to bring their own cannabis lines to market in 2022. In announcing its Sturbridge opening, Heal said it also plans to open another dispensary in Province- town in fall of this year. Fast food restaurant Pollo Campero eyes Worcester franchise expansion Pollo Campero, a fast food chicken restaurant started in Guatemala, with international headquarters in Texas, is eyeing Worcester for franchise expansion, the compa- ny announced on May 25. e company hopes to open 10 stores in Massachu- setts in the next five years, according to the announce- ment, with more than 250 new stores planned around the country. So far, 77 stores are already open and/or in development in the United States, according to a press release. e company, founded in 1971, is seeking prospective franchise owners looking to get into the business. Ideal candidates will have multi-unit operational restaurant experience, as well as the necessary capital to invest in at least three to five Pollo Campero locations. More infor- mation about franchising can be found on the company website. Pollo Campero did not specify how many locations it hopes to open in Worcester or the surrounding area, aside from the 10-store goal for the state as a whole. Nativity School of Worcester names new president e board at the Nativity School of Worcester, an independent Jesuit middle school, announced omas McKenney as the new president effective June 4.
