W O R K F O R M E / S P R I N G 2 0 2 1 4 S p o n s o r L e t t e r From blue collar to 'all collar' professional positions, there are jobs in manufacturing What a year! As the voice of man- ufacturing in the state of Maine, the Manufacturers Association of Maine is, once again, thrilled to be partnered with Mainebiz to create and promote Work for ME. This is a grand opportunity to showcase what is happening in manufacturing today! Manufacturers Association of Maine represents hundreds of members providing work- force and business services to meet the needs of our busi- nesses and workers. The major ongoing challenge has been and continues to be finding and attracting a skilled workforce. We have launched EGS, or Employee Growth Services, as the workforce arm of the Manu- facturers Association. We are pleased to be partnering with Destination Occupation (as the workforce arm of MAME), JMG, Maine's Adult Education pro- grams, Express Employment and many other entities that provide job seekers, training opportunities and recruitment efforts across the state. Through our success of the EGS program, this publication is used as a major outreach strategy to engage more young people, educators, parents, and the public on the career op- portunities in manufacturing. Work for ME provides the op- portunity to build awareness and educate others about what manufacturing looks like today. Today, modern manufac- turing facilities are filled with high tech computer systems, automation, clean rooms, en- gineering, and research and development departments. There are a substantial num- ber of career opportunities in Maine. This publication will intro- duce students and educators to the world of modern manu- facturing through the eyes of companies right here in Maine. Work for ME will highlight many of our "all collar" professionals in manufacturing who have found rewarding careers. Join us as we experience the many opportunities in this vi- brant sector and discover your future here in Maine manu- facturing. — Lisa G. Martin Executive Director Manufacturers Association of Maine Manufacturers Association of Maine Modern manufacturing facilities are filled with high tech computer systems, automation, clean rooms, engineering, R&D.
