Email your Movers & Shakers announcements to gbordonaro@hartfordbusiness.com Dr. Edison Liu, the president and CEO of the Jackson Laboratory, a nonprofit biomedical research institution with major operations in Farmington, plans to step down from those roles in Feb. 2022. Liu, who has led the internationally prominent Maine-based lab since 2012, plans to remain at JAX as a professor, and will continue to lead a team of investigators studying cancer genomics with a focus on breast cancer. He will also continue serving as director of the lab's National Cancer Institute-designated Cancer Center until a leadership transition can be completed. JAX has already started the search for Liu's successor, and has published a call for candidates. Jacquelynn (Jackie) Garofano is now chief technology officer at the Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology (CCAT), a quasi-public agency that advises manufacturing companies on the industry's latest equipment. Garofano previously worked for defense manufacturer Raytheon Technologies for a decade. At CCAT, she will focus on developing and directing new technology projects and programs. Erica Foskett has joined insurer Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Connecticut as director of contracting. Before joining Harvard Pilgrim, Foster practiced law in Massachusetts. Attorneys Judith Blank and Glenn Rybacki and paralegal Teri McGehan have joined law firm Pullman & Comley LLC in its Hartford office. All three will work in Pullman's public finance practice. Blank practices in the area of state and local public finance, representing governmental agencies issuing general obligation and revenue bonds, in addition to other clients. Rybacki represents a variety of issuers of tax-exempt and taxable bonds as bond counsel and regularly represents underwriters, lenders and other clients. McGehan has more than 20 years of experience working in public finance, and has worked with Connecticut's state government, municipalities and quasi-public agencies. James Bradley was named board chair of Farmington medtech startup Diameter Health, which helps health information exchanges, IT vendors, care providers and payers consolidate and better evaluate clinical data. Bradley previously served as chief information officer of UnitedHealthcare and chief technology strategy officer at McKesson Corp. Thomas Daniells was hired as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary at INDUS Realty Trust Inc., a New York-based real estate firm with an office in Connecticut. Daniells was previously a partner at Hartford law firm Murtha Cullina LLP for more than two decades. Steve McLoughlin was named director of marketing at Connecticut Wealth Management LLC, a Farmington-based registered investment advisory firm. McLoughlin has 25 years experience in marketing, including for financial clients such as GE Capital and MassMutual. The Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, a philanthropic organization focused on Hartford and 28 surrounding communities, announced three promotions to its development team. Francesca Borges Gordon has been promoted to director of development - outreach and external relations. Ryan O'Halloran has been promoted to senior development officer, where he will continue to steward donor advisors and expand his role on the Foundation's prospect team. Chari Anderson has been promoted to development officer and will become a member of the Foundation's donor- advised fund team, working with advisors to help them in their grant- making.
