Avitus Orthopaedics said the latest regulatory clearance will allow it to market its Avitus Bone Harvester tech- nology as a minimally-invasive way to remove infected or diseased bone. The device's suction-powered tech- nology offers a faster, less invasive way to remove diseased bone, according to the company. The collected tissue is contained within the device's handle, allowing for easy transport of the diseased bone. This lessens the risk of exposing healthy tissue or contaminating other instruments or the surgical site, the company said. Real estate firm rolls out home-buying program for hurried sellers William Raveis Real Estate of Shelton recently rolled out a new service called Raveis Purchase. Under the program, clients of the real estate company can sell their existing home to William Raveis for up to 80% of its value, unlocking the majority of equity so they can quickly make an offer on their next home. Once the home is empty, Raveis com- pletes any needed renovations and lists it for sale. When the home sells, the home- owner gets the remaining proceeds. Raveis said it is buying homes at all price points throughout the company's nine-state footprint, which includes Connecticut, Florida, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Ver- mont, New Hampshire, Maine, New York and New Jersey.
