Dr. RANDI BERKOWITZ has been named the associate medical director for Worcester-based Fallon Health's Summit ElderCare program. Berkowitz, a practicing geriatrician with more than 30 years of experience, is responsible in her new role for helping supervise medical care for 1,200 participants in the program's five locations. She joins Fallon from the Lowell Community Health Center, where she was the chief medical officer. Berkowitz earned a medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker Medical School and a bachelor of arts and sciences in biology from Barnard College in New York. ALAN WHITNEY of Ware has joined Cornerstone Bank in Southbridge as vice president for marketing. Whitney has more than 25 years of banking experience, and joins Cornerstone Bank from Agrium Advanced Technologies and Shemin Landscape Supply in Connecticut. The U.S. Navy veteran has a degree in business and marketing from Western New England University in Springfield. ERIN ROSENLUND and MATTHEW ALLISON of the Worcester accounting firm S&G have been promoted to partners, with responsibilities including client management and oversight. Rosenlund joined S&G in 2011 and has an accounting degree from Stonehill College in Easton. Allison joined the firm in 2018 and is a graduate of Quinnipiac University in Connecticut, with degrees in economics and finance. JENNIFER McKEON, a professor of dental assisting and hygiene at Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester, has been awarded the 2021 Elizabeth A. Baer Award by the Yankee Dental Congress, which is made annually to a dental assistant who has made significant contributions to the Massachusetts Dental Assistants Association and the Massachusetts Dental Society. McKeon received her associate degree in dental hygiene from QCC, began teaching M OV E R S & S H A K E R S there part-time in 2002 and became a full-time faculty member in 2010. She is due to be appointed president this year of the Massachusetts Dental Assistants Association. Dr. JESSICA MACK has joined Harrington Physician Services in Southbridge providing physical medicine and rehabilitation services. She attended the University of Michigan, where she completed her fellowship and residency program, and received her medical degree from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. KOLA AKINDELE has joined Worcester Polytechnic Institute as the assistant vice president of external relations and strategic partnerships, leading the school's newly formed external relations and partnerships team. He was most recently the assistant vice chancellor for city and community relations at UMass Medical School in Worcester, and he succeeds Linda Looft, who retired in 2020 after 15 years. Akindele earned a bachelor's degree from UMass Boston, a master's degree from UMass Lowell and a law degree from Northeastern University in Boston. Dr. JUSTIN SLAVIN, a neurosurgeon, has joined UMass Memorial Surgery at Milford, a partnership between UMass Memorial Health Care and Milford Regional Medical Center. Slavin, who is also an assistant professor at UMass Medical School, earned his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where he also performed a neurosurgery residency. He completed a spinal neurosurgery fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston and was an attending physician at Greater Baltimore Medical Center.
