Giveaway gang
The staff at bankHometown's 270 Grove St. branch in Oxford surprised five
area nonprofit organizations with charitable donations totaling $10,000. Dubbed
the Giveaway Gang and led by Branch Officer Joel Laureano, the staff visited
five area nonprofits over five weeks and presented checks in the amount of
$2,000 to each: Why Me & Sherry's House, Veterans Inc., CASA Project
Worcester County, Elder Services of Worcester Area Inc., and Go Hard

Better together
The Worcester Together Fund, a joint effort between the Greater Worcester
Community Foundation and United Way of Central Massachusetts,
announced $1 million in Reimagining Grants funding to six nonprofits. Funds
will benefit Legendary Legacies, to increase voter turnout among 18 to
25-year-olds; Pernet Family Health Service, for in-home neonatal visits for
parents; the Regional Environmental Council, to improve food security;
Together for Kids Coalition, for an early-childhood care network; Worcester
Community Action Council for Southbridge services; and Worcester
Education Collaborative for improved program access.
