Deborah Rogala was named director of operations for Community Partners in Action, a Hartford nonprofit focused on behavioral change and criminal justice reform. Rogala has worked for CPA for nearly 30 years, and led the nonprofit's expansion into therapeutic residential services for adolescent boys in Connecticut's juvenile justice system. Yule, a graduate of Russell Sage College who holds a master's degree in public health from the University at Albany, will provide leadership, direction and oversight for the organization's operations. Long, a graduate of the University of Chicago and an MBA candidate at the University of Connecticut, will lead the nonprofit's government affairs, public policy and advocacy initiatives. Christine Phillips was hired as senior vice president, human resources director at Westfield Bank, a Western Massachusetts bank with four Connecticut locations. Phillips previously worked as first vice president at PeoplesBank in Holyoke, Mass. Scott Kopraski has been hired as vice president and general accounting firm UHY LLP. Farber brings more than two decades of experience in financial leadership and auditing with a focus on employee benefit plans. In her new position she is responsible for serving businesses in manufacturing, retail and not-for- profit industries Nathwani has a decade of tax experience in the accounting profession. In his new position, Nathwani is responsible for providing tax preparation services to businesses and individuals. Catherine "Cathie" Ellithorpe has been promoted at Glastonbury architectural firm the SLAM Collaborative to the position of principal, responsible for guiding architects, consultants and contractors through projects. Ellithorpe has worked on more than 300 projects at SLAM and has managed nearly 150 of them. Hilary Pohley has been hired by West Hartford- based YHB Investment Advisors Inc. as a senior portfolio analyst, responsible for supporting portfolio management and client service. Pohley, a West Hartford resident, previously worked at a small advisory firm in the area. Hartford-based Silver Fern Healthcare, which develops treatment plans for patients with chronic illnesses, added three new members to its board of advisors. New board members include Sohini Roy, former CFO of California-based financial services company Nexseer Capital; Donna Lecky, CFO and co-founder of HealthVenture Corp., a New Haven- based venture capital firm; and Cathy Eddy, founder and former president of Health Plan Alliance, a Texas company that sells health insurance plans.
