Visit New Haven works to market the region through social media and other campaigns. Kozlowski wears several hats — all with an aim of improving the region's tourism industry and economy. With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic causing many hotels, restaurants and other businesses to suffer, Kozlowski has been regularly keeping the business community apprised of all the programs and assistance available to help — such as the Paycheck Protection Program. In her economic development roles, Kozlowski works to help retain, expand and attract businesses and a diverse and talented workforce for the region. As leader of REX Development, she helps create and oversee the region's overall economic development strategy. Lauren Zucker, Yale University's Associate Vice President for New Haven Affairs and University Properties Whether it is a new beauty salon, cafe or apparel store, Lauren Zucker is there at the launch of new businesses within Yale University's properties. As the university's associate vice president for New Haven Affairs and University Properties, Zucker builds relationships with city officials and the business community. Yale University Properties includes not only residential properties, but more than 85 retail tenants. Zucker joined Yale in 2011 aer a career in corporate real estate finance. In her current position, Zucker fosters economic development and educational outreach initiatives. With many local restaurants and retailers feeling the impact of the pandemic, Zucker and Yale have been working closely to help. According to Zucker, they have been communicating with merchants regularly.
