Gianquinto most recently served as president of Missouri Care, Anthem's Medicaid business in Missouri. Prior to that, he held several jobs in the Connecticut insurance industry at companies including UnitedHealthcare and Oxford Health Plans, where he led initiatives to improve quality, manage costs and increase affordability. Gianquinto takes the new post from Jill Hummel, who recently retired after seven years as the Connecticut plan president. The parent company of Rhode Island's Citizens Bank has named Christopher J. Swift, chairman and CEO of The Hartford Financial Services Group, to its board of directors. In a statement, Citizens CEO Bruce Van Saun called Swift "a standout CEO in the financial services industry, with significant experience in transformation and positioning a venerable company for the future." The property-casualty insurance exec will serve on the board's risk committee. Ginny Hanbridge has been named executive director of the Connecticut Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, a nonprofit that focuses on Alzheimer's and dementia. Hanbridge previously served as the chapter's director of development. Lee Bowman was hired as chief of staff at HPC Food Service, a South Windsor-based food distribution company. Bowman will report to HPC President Jim Charbonneau. Bowman previously worked for Better Brands Inc., and Sysco CT. Jeremiah J. O'Callaghan was promoted to the position of manager of engineering at Conval, an Enfield-based manufacturer that makes high- performance severe service valves. O'Callaghan previously served as principal engineer at Conval, a position he's held since 1999. Hope Utterbeck has joined Middletown- based Liberty Bank as executive vice president, and chief information officer. Utterbeck previously served as senior vice president and director of business applications at Webster Bank. The Connecticut Bankers Association, which represents state and federally chartered banks on legislative and regulatory matters, announced its 2020-2021 board and executive committee. Cynthia Merkle, the president and CEO of Union Savings Bank, is president; Michael J. LaBella, Connecticut marketing president at TD Bank, is first vice chair; Timothy P. Geelan, president and CEO of Guilford Savings Bank, is second vice chair; Stephen L. Lewis, president and CEO of Thomaston Savings Bank, is past chair; Thomas S. Mongellow is CEO. Executive officers include Daniel L. Berta, president of Fairfield County Bank; Steven T. Cornell, president and CEO of National Iron Bank, Salisbury; Frank J. Gaudio, president and CEO of Frank J.
