Shah earned her medical degree from the Pramukhswami Medical College in India, completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, and a fellowship in endocrine, diabetes and metabolism at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and works at UMass Memorial Medical Center's University Campus. Worcester nonprofit Open Sky Community Services announced the election of two new members to its board of directors. CHARISSE MURPHY earned her bachelor's degree in psychology and criminal justice from the University of New Haven. She is the director of leadership giving at Worcester State University and the founder of UMass Memorial Medical Group in Worcester has hired four new doctors: Dr. ANDREW GILLIS-SMITH in hematology/oncology, Dr. NASIFA NUR in internal medicine, Dr. PRAKASH PAUDEL, a hospitalist, and Dr. VRUSHALI SHAH, an endocrinologist. Gillis-Smith completed an internal medicine residency at Rhode Island Hospital and a hematology/oncology fellowship at the UMass Medical School, and today works at UMass Memorial Medical Center University Campus. Nur earned her medical degree from the Sir Salimullah Medical College in Bangladesh, completed an internal medicine residency at Kent Hospital/ M o v e r s & S h a k e r s GILLIS-SMITH EmPOWER ME! PAUL SCHASEL received his bachelor's degree in finance from St. Bonaventure University in New York and an MBA from Bryant University. He is the director of fiscal affairs for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Worcester. Dr. HYEMIN POMERANTZ has joined Reliant Medical Group in its department of dermatology. She earned her medical degree from Harvard Medical School in Boston. She then completed an internship at Boston Medical Center and her residency training in dermatology at Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/ Northwell in New York. Pomerantz did subspecialty training at the Laser & Skin Surgery Center of New York. Dr. ALEXANDER CONNAUGHTON has joined Reliant Medical Group in its department of orthopedic surgery. He received his medical degree at Michigan State University and completed his residency at Western Michigan University. He completed his fellowship at the University of Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in New York. Montachusett Home Care Corp. of Leominster has appointed three new members to its board of directors: ELIZABETH PAPE, a board member at the Sterling Council on Aging; JENNIFER CONRAD, a senior vice president at Fidelity Bank in Leominster; and MARY MATHIEU, a care coordination director at UMass Memorial HealthAlliance-Clinton Hospital. The agency also announced the appointment of a new vice president, PETER MACDONALD of Sunrise Senior Living. Pape led an update to the Sterling Council on Aging's bylaws. Conrad has been an executive-level banking professional in cash management for more than 20 years. Mathieu has a variety of experience, including managed and home care. Dr. ADITI AHLAWAT has joined Milford Regional Physician Group's neurology department. Ahlawat joins Milford Regional from Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, where she completed her residency and a fellowship in clinical neurology. She studied biology at Brandeis University and earned her medical degree at UMass Medical School. As a student, she was awarded the Medical Student Prize for Excellence by the American Academy of Neurology for her research on penetrating traumatic brain injuries.
