They include: Robin Fiala, VP, Sales and Marketing, Otis Elevator; Joseph A. Kask, CEO, blumshapiro; Matthew D. McSpedon, Executive Director, Connecticut & Mid Hudson Middle Market Banking & Specialized Industries, Commercial Banking, JPMorgan Chase Bank; Graham Robinson, President, Stanley Industrial, Stanley Black & Decker; Meredith Shay, Owner, InCord Ltd.; Jeff Varesio, Senior Director, Operations, Surgical Innovations Contract Manufacturing, Medtronic; Jeffrey J. White, Partner, Robinson+Cole Connecticut's Board of Regents for Higher Education appointed Jane McBride Gates as interim president of the Connecticut State Colleges and Universities, replacing outgoing President Mark Ojakian. Gates, who has served as CSCU's provost and senior vice president for academic and student affairs, will start in her new role on Dec. 31, when Ojakian officially retires as president. Tom Campbell has been named president of the American Academy of Actuaries, which represents and unites U.S. actuaries in all practice areas. Campbell, a Farmington resident, is a senior actuarial consultant for Actuarial Resources Corp., where his work focuses on life insurance. Scott Selig was appointed partner at Harvest Development Group, a Middletown nonprofit consulting firm. Selig recently created a series of pandemic-related webinars for Harvest clients. Before joining Harvest, he served as a mentor for the Obama Foundation Hartford Cohort. Ohio-based KeyBank announced the hiring and promotions of five employees who will serve Connecticut customers. John Jezowski was hired as a wealth advisor, responsible for the coordination of financial planning; Chelsea Brochu has joined Key Private Bank as senior experience manager, and will lead the Hartford team of client experience associates; Geoffrey James was promoted to wealth development partner, responsible for driving cross-business development between Key's Connecticut and Massachusetts branch network and the private bank; Brandon McGoldrick is now a senior business banking relationship manager for the Greater Hartford area, responsible for expanding existing client relationships; Bonnie Addison was promoted to market sales leader, responsible for implementing a market sales strategy and leading a team of financial advisors. Michael A. Caron has been elected second vice president of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners, a nonprofit organization dedicated to representing the state public utility commissions. Caron is commissioner of Connecticut's Public Utilities Regulatory Authority, which oversees the state's investor-owned electricity, natural gas, water and telecommunication companies. Lizette Nigro has joined Middletown- based Liberty Bank as vice president of digital engagement. Nigro previously worked as director of product management for Glastonbury fintech company Fiserv.
