We believe that living well means having continued purpose, social connection, growth and belonging and access to resources that can improve your health, wherever you may live. If you or someone you love is concerned about changes in cognitive health, you are not alone. You likely have lots of questions and may feel overwhelmed. Living with dementia is not easy. Many things change. What does not change is a desire to be valued, to stay connected, to have choices, to feel secure, to lead a meaningful life and to experience joy. Our work at LiveWell promotes well-being and addresses concerns about how to positively adapt to changing cognitive abilities. How have the services you provide to the community changed in response to the COVID's impact? We have adapted our work during this pandemic to keep those who live, work and visit with us COVID Free and socially connected. We shifted community resources, creating virtual and in-person events. Telehealth has allowed us to maintain the continuity of our counselling, coaching, geriatric, and palliative physician consultation services. Here are some of the FREE services that have been created to support individuals to live well with dementia during this pandemic. LiveWell's Virtual Café: A virtual social gathering for people living with dementia and their family, friends, and professional caregivers. Cafés aim to decrease the social isolation. Resilient Living Education Series and Workshops: These learning opportunities provide the knowledge clients and families need to meet the new experiences and challenges associated with dementia. Resilient Living Coaching Sessions with a Navigator: Individual 'Coaching' sessions focus on priority areas to build resilience and living well with dementia, including: Understanding Dementia & Adaptive Strategies, Social & Meaningful Engagement, Emotional Support, Planning, Health & Wellness. Right on Here's to LiveWell Dementia Specialists and Our Lady of Calvary Retreat Center for all they do for the community. It's another brilliant example of what care can do.
